Leadership …

     America  needs  strong  leadership in all areas to help us fight back against the Coronavirus.  As we now continue to address the many issues raised by this pandemic, our nation is trying to reopen and to return to ” business as usual!”   Good leadership will rest upon making good, informed decisions in all areas of our lives.  As President Eisenhower has said, “Leadership consists of nothing but taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong and giving your subordinates credit for everything that goes well!”  Wise words!

Leadership in Turbulent Times, by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Simon & Schuster, 2018)  is “a book … that should help us raise our expectations of our national leaders, our country and ourselves.”  The author is a Pulitzer prize-winning historian known for her best-selling memoirs of famous American leaders such as:  Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson and others.  In this book, she demonstrates how great leaders are made … and not born.  Delving into their political careers, she chronicles leaders throughout history … who governed during some horrific national crises.
