Moonlight is an Academy Award winning film that tells the story of a man named Chiron. As he grows up in Miami, the film explores three different, transcendent moments of his life in an effort to understand where empathy and love can come from in the midst of difficult times. This film highlights a life that is not often brought to the center of the narrative, and shows the power that support and faith in humanity have in the hardest of times.
The original story for the film was based on an unpublished play by Tarell Alvin McCraney, check out his published work The Brother/Sister Plays for more incredible writing
