Find A New Read
We asked our librarians which books they would love to check out for the first time again if they could.

I picked this up with some reluctance. I didn’t think I’d be interested in a sports story. This was so much more than that. When a failing high school field hockey team grows desperate to turn their season around, they decide to turn to black magic. Set in the 80s, this book was incredibly unique, hilarious, and touching. I wish I could re-read it with fresh eyes. -Jeanna, Youth Services

This book changed how I consume true crime. Kolker’s meticulously researched account of the Gilgo Beach murders strips away the sensationalized headlines and humanizes the victims and their surviving family members. -Kara, Information Services

I was transformed after reading this book. It whisked me away to a world filled with beauty and magic, with descriptions that are so incredible I have not found anything else like it. –Noel, Information Services
